“My skin just does not bounce back like it used to.”

Polynucleotides are regenerative treatments derived from purified salmon DNA. Plinest supports the skin’s own repair, hydration and elasticity — around the eyes and across the face.

Polynucleotide skin treatment at At The Redefined, Birmingham

Why it happens

Skin repairs itself more slowly with time. Polynucleotides help it do that work again.

Sun, stress, hormones and age all slow down the skin’s natural renewal. The result is thinner, drier, less elastic skin that looks tired. Rather than filling or freezing, polynucleotides aim to improve the quality of the skin itself.

How it works, in thirty seconds

01

Assess

We look at skin thickness, texture and hydration, and agree which areas to treat.

02

Inject

Small amounts are placed into the skin with a fine needle or cannula.

03

Build

A short course, spaced a few weeks apart, lets results build gradually.

What you will notice

Improved hydration and softness
Skin that looks thicker and healthier
Fine lines looking less pronounced
A brighter, fresher under-eye area
Gradual change that looks completely natural

Ideal for

Thin, crepey skin around the eyes
Dull, tired or dehydrated skin
Early signs of ageing on the face and neck
Clients who want regenerative, not volumising, treatment
Not suitable with a fish or salmon allergy

What people believe · what is true

“It is a dermal filler.”

It is not. Polynucleotides do not add volume or change your shape — they work on skin quality.

“You see it the next day.”

Results are gradual. Most people notice the change over the weeks of their course.

“It is the same as a skin booster.”

They overlap, but work differently. We often combine them for the best result.

“Salmon DNA means it smells of fish.”

It does not. The DNA is highly purified before it is used.

What to realistically expect

Same day

Small bumps at the injection points, usually settling within a day or two.

After session one

Skin starts to feel more hydrated.

End of course

Improved texture, thickness and brightness.

Maintenance

Top-up sessions as advised, usually every few months.

Questions we are asked every week

Does it hurt?

There is some discomfort, particularly around the eyes, but it is quick. We work slowly and talk you through it.

Will there be bumps or bruising?

Small raised bumps are normal and usually settle within a day or two. Bruising is possible, as with any injection.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually a short course of sessions a few weeks apart. We confirm this at consultation.

Is it suitable if I am allergic to fish?

No. Please tell us about any allergies — we check your medical history before every treatment.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes. It works well alongside skin boosters, PRP and microneedling as part of a plan.

We would rather help your skin do its job better than cover up what it is no longer doing.

We will tell you honestly whether this is right for your skin.

Every treatment here begins with a Skin Health Assessment — a proper look at your skin, a conversation about what is bothering you, and a written plan you can take away and think about.
