Skin boosters are injectable treatments that work on the quality of your skin — hydration, firmness, elasticity and glow — rather than adding volume or changing your shape. At our clinic we use Profhilo, Polynucleotides, Lumi, Jalupro and Lemon Bottle, chosen for each skin individually.

Skin boosters are not fillers

This is the most common misunderstanding. Dermal fillers are designed to add volume and shape. Skin boosters are designed to improve the skin itself. You should not look different after a skin booster — you should look well.

How the main types differ

  • Hyaluronic acid boosters, such as Profhilo, focus on deep hydration and bounce.
  • Polynucleotides, such as Plinest, are derived from purified salmon DNA and support the skin’s own repair processes. They are often used around the eyes. Read more about Plinest.
  • Amino acid and hyaluronic acid combinations, such as Jalupro, aim to support collagen as well as hydration.

What to expect

Treatment involves small injections at precise points. Small bumps are normal and usually settle within a day, and bruising is possible as with any injection. Most boosters work best as a short course, a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance.

How we choose

We look at what your skin needs most: hydration, firmness, repair or brightness. We also consider your history, your budget and how quickly you want results. Sometimes the best plan combines a booster with another treatment such as microneedling.
